OUR STORY • HAIRDRESSER FOUNDED • RURAL WESTERN AUSTRALIA
About Cooper Delivered
Cooper Delivered is an Australian shampoo bar and sustainable beauty brand built from hairdressing knowledge, rural living and the belief that everyday care can become something more meaningful.
It did not begin in a boardroom.
It began behind a salon chair, where I learned that hair was never only about hair.
It was confidence. Identity. Culture. Memory. The quiet moment when someone looked into the mirror and recognised themselves again.
Years later, that understanding followed me into a caravan, onto rural land in Western Australia and into a business built around plastic-free haircare, intentional rituals and practical sustainability.
We are Cailin and Damien, and this is the story of what we are building.
The Short Story
Who is behind Cooper Delivered?
Cooper Delivered was founded by Australian hairdresser Cailin Cooper and is built with her husband, Damien, from their rural property in Western Australia.
Cailin began hairdressing as a teenager, became a salon owner at eighteen and spent years learning how deeply haircare connects with confidence, identity and everyday life.
After leaving salon ownership and moving through several different careers, she returned to haircare with a new question:
Could professional knowledge, sustainability and meaningful ritual exist inside the same business?
Cooper Delivered began with shampoo and conditioner bars and has grown into a wider ecosystem of hair education, lower-waste living, product innovation, rural storytelling and future regional manufacturing.
Who We Are
Two ordinary people building an uncommon kind of business
Cooper Delivered is not backed by a large beauty corporation, venture capital or a polished city headquarters.
It is being built by us, piece by piece.
From a caravan.
From rural land.
From kitchen tables, sheds, gardens, computers, product boxes and ideas scribbled down before they disappear.
We are learning how to build a business while also building the life around it.
That means progress is rarely neat.
But it is real.
The Beginning
The story began behind a salon chair
Hairdressing taught me how technical knowledge and human connection can exist in the same moment.
I began my hairdressing apprenticeship at fourteen.
By eighteen, I had moved into salon ownership.
For the next seven years, I stood behind the chair listening to people talk about weddings, work, illness, heartbreak, family, fear and everything in between.
Clients came in asking for colour, cuts and styling.
But what they often wanted was to feel more like themselves.
Hairdressing taught me about:
• scalp and hair needs
• product use and overuse
• colour, texture and condition
• confidence and identity
• the power of listening
• how much trust exists between a client and hairdresser
It also showed me how much product and packaging move through the beauty industry.
Shampoo bottles, conditioner bottles, masks, pumps, caps, treatments, colour tubes and styling products moved constantly through the salon.
At the time, it felt normal.
Later, it became one of the questions that shaped Cooper Delivered.
What Hairdressing Meant
It was never about forcing people into one version of beauty
I loved helping people feel good.
But I never loved the idea that beauty required everyone to look, dress or live the same way.
The best transformations were not the ones that made someone look like everybody else.
They were the ones that made someone stand a little taller because the result felt like them.
That idea still sits beneath Cooper Delivered.
Haircare should support identity, not erase it.
A ritual should help you return to yourself, not make you feel that you were wrong before you began.
The Years Between
Cooper Delivered was built from more than one career
Leaving the salon did not mean leaving everything hairdressing had taught me.
After selling the salon, life moved through several chapters.
Photography
Photography studios taught me about visual storytelling, customer experience and helping people feel comfortable in front of a lens.
Events
Event-management studies strengthened my understanding of planning, logistics, timelines and the small details that shape an experience.
Recruitment
Recruitment taught me how people communicate, what employers overlook and how important it is to make people feel seen.
Websites and marketing
Building websites and learning marketing gave me the tools to turn ideas into pages, campaigns, products and connected customer journeys.
Difficult workplaces
Some environments showed me exactly how I did not want to lead, communicate or treat the people around me.
Starting again
Every change taught me that experience is rarely wasted, even when the path makes no sense while you are living through it.
Looking back, Cooper Delivered did not emerge from one perfect business plan.
It was assembled from everything that came before it.
From Our Family to Yours
This business is part of our household, not separate from it
Cooper Delivered is packed, planned, photographed, discussed and developed inside the same life we are trying to build.
Damien has been beside me through the moves, the product boxes, the website changes, the difficult months and the ideas that became much larger than expected.
Sometimes one of us is packing orders while the other is working outside.
Sometimes a product idea is discussed over dinner.
Sometimes we are trying to solve a packaging problem from a caravan with limited room and too many things stacked around us.
This is not a polished founder story written after the difficult part was finished.
We are still inside the building part.

The Leap
We did not renovate our old life. We chose to rebuild it
The decision to move rural changed both the business and the way we understood sustainability.
We sold our house.
We moved into a caravan.
We bought rural land in Western Australia.
We chose fewer conventional comforts in exchange for space, possibility and the chance to build something ourselves.
Rural living made everyday systems more visible.
Water came from tanks.
Power needed to be generated and stored.
Rubbish did not feel as though it simply disappeared.
Storage mattered.
Every item brought onto the property needed somewhere to go.
Sustainability stopped being an attractive idea and became practical household management.
Life on the Block
Off-grid living teaches you to notice what ordinary life hides
Living closer to the land does not automatically make someone perfectly sustainable.
It does make waste, water, weather, power and consumption harder to ignore.
We have learned through trial, error and many imperfect days.
Sometimes things break.
Sometimes the weather changes the plan.
Sometimes a simple project takes much longer because the tools, money or materials are not yet available.
Those lessons influence how Cooper Delivered communicates sustainability.
We do not believe people need to change their entire lives overnight.
We believe they need practical changes they can actually continue.

Why Shampoo Bars?
Haircare knowledge met a packaging problem
Shampoo bars created a way to rethink the product without abandoning the professional knowledge behind it.
Conventional liquid shampoo is familiar and can work extremely well.
The problem was never that every bottled product was bad.
The problem was the repeated system around it:
• water transported inside the formula
• a new bottle with every purchase
• pumps, lids and labels
• bulky bathroom storage
• easy over-dispensing
• packaging discarded after the product was finished
Shampoo bars offered another format.
Concentrated. Compact. Plastic-bottle free. Easier to travel with. More deliberate to use.
But I did not want to sell bars by pretending format was more important than hair.
The product still needed to cleanse properly.
Customers still needed to understand their scalp, their lengths and their technique.
The Product Foundation
A small routine with clear jobs
Cooper Delivered began with a deliberately simple haircare structure.
Detox Shampoo Bar
A scalp-focused cleansing option designed for oily roots, product build-up and hair that needs a fresher reset.
Hydration Shampoo Bar
The more hydration-focused cleansing pathway for routines where dryness, roughness or moisture support matter.
Conditioner Bar
A separate conditioning step for softness, slip, detangling and support through the mid-lengths and ends.
The principle is the same one used behind the chair:
Cleanse according to the scalp. Condition according to the lengths.
Hairdresser Led
Hair education is part of the product
A shampoo bar is only useful when the customer knows how to choose, apply, rinse and store it.
Haircare marketing often relies on dramatic promises.
One product will supposedly detox, repair, regrow, hydrate, clarify and transform everything.
Real haircare is usually less dramatic and more practical.
Technique matters.
Water matters.
Product placement matters.
Scalp condition and hair condition are not always the same.
This is why Hair Lab exists.
It gives customers access to hairdresser-led explanations before and after they buy.
Dry hair
Learn how to cleanse the scalp while protecting dry, frizzy or processed lengths.
Oily hair
Understand oil, build-up, product placement and the correct scalp-cleansing routine.
Correct technique
Follow the complete application, rinsing, conditioning and storage method.
Troubleshooting
Learn why hair may feel waxy, heavy or coated after changing products.
What We Believe
Haircare can be practical, sustainable and meaningful at the same time
Cooper Delivered is built around connection rather than perfection.
Sustainability
Reduce unnecessary packaging, question disposable systems and create lower-waste choices that people can realistically maintain.
Culture
Respect the histories, rituals and identities that exist around hair, care and the ways people understand beauty.
Empowerment
Give people enough knowledge to make informed choices rather than relying on fear, shame or miracle claims.
Ritual
Transform an ordinary shower into a moment of attention, care and reconnection.
Transparency
Speak honestly about what products can do, what remains imperfect and what is still being tested or developed.
Progress
Make better choices repeatedly without demanding impossible perfection from individuals or small businesses.
Ritual Over Routine
The shower can be more than a transaction
Haircare is often sold as a quick problem followed by a quick solution.
Frizz needs fixing.
Grey needs hiding.
Oil needs removing.
Dryness needs correcting.
But care can be something gentler than constantly searching for faults.
The shower may be one of the only quiet moments in the day.
Water runs. Steam rises. Hands move through the hair. The body slows down for a few minutes.
Cooper Delivered calls this ritual because the action may be ordinary while the meaning is personal.
A More Personal Awareness
Health experiences changed some of the questions I asked
Living with PCOS and endometriosis made me more conscious of what entered my environment and how much information consumers are expected to sort through.
It did not lead me to believe that every synthetic ingredient is dangerous or every natural ingredient is automatically safe.
It made me want clearer information.
Better questions.
Fewer fear-based claims.
More transparency about ingredients, packaging and product purpose.
Cooper Delivered does not provide medical treatment or claim that beauty products cure health conditions.
The aim is to create informed, practical haircare choices without using health fear as a marketing tool.
Our Sustainability Direction
We are trying to build better systems, not claim zero impact
Every physical product requires ingredients, manufacturing, transport, packaging and energy.
Cooper Delivered is not perfectly sustainable.
No physical product or business is impact-free.
Our direction includes:
• replacing conventional shampoo and conditioner bottles with solid bars
• educating customers so products are used and stored properly
• reducing unnecessary packaging where practical
• exploring reusable shipping systems
• building from an increasingly off-grid rural setting
• considering product life beyond the first use
• being transparent about projects that remain in development
Sustainability is ongoing work rather than a label earned once.
A Circular Direction
We did not set out to build only another beauty brand
The original idea was shampoo bars.
Then the questions became larger.
What happens to ecommerce packaging after delivery?
Could shipping packaging remain useful?
Could beauty connect with gardening, land and practical sustainability?
Could a rural business create products, digital tools, education and eventually employment within the same ecosystem?
That thinking led to projects such as The AllWays Bag™, Sustainable HQ and Cooper Delivered Earth.
The business is no longer only about what happens in the shower.
It is about the systems surrounding the product before and after it reaches the customer.
Read the supporting founder reflection: We Didn’t Set Out to Build a Circular Beauty Business .
Product Innovation
The AllWays Bag™ began with a packaging question
What if shipping packaging completed more than one journey?
The AllWays Bag™ is a patent-pending reusable shipping-bag concept developed under Cooper Delivered.
It is designed to begin as ecommerce packaging and continue as something useful after delivery.
The project grew from frustration with single-use packaging and the limits of treating compostable or recyclable materials as the only possible answer.
It remains a developing product pathway involving testing, materials, closures, label systems, manufacturing and commercial planning.
Built in Public
You are seeing the business before the finished chapter exists
Cooper Delivered shares the development process because the path matters.
That includes:
• product tests
• prototype failures
• website rebuilds
• packaging decisions
• rural projects
• garden development
• manufacturing ambitions
• moments where the next step is not yet affordable
Building in public does not mean every idea will become a successful product.
It means customers can see the work, thought and learning that exist before an outcome.
Building in Katanning
The long-term vision is a rural manufacturing future
Cooper Delivered is being built from the Katanning region of Western Australia.
The larger goal is to move beyond importing finished ideas and towards creating products, systems and employment from regional Australia.
The vision includes:
• sustainable haircare development
• lower-waste product innovation
• regional manufacturing capacity
• renewable and off-grid infrastructure
• local employment opportunities
• digital tools connected to physical products
This is not the current scale of the business.
It is the direction we are working towards.

We are building more than shampoo bars
Haircare is the beginning of a much wider Cooper Delivered ecosystem.
Hair education

Sustainable living
Share practical low-waste lessons shaped by rural and off-grid life.
Garden and beauty
Explore the connection between plants, herbs, home-grown ingredients and everyday beauty rituals.
Packaging innovation
Develop reusable and more thoughtful systems for moving products between businesses and customers.
Regional employment
Create future work and manufacturing opportunities from rural Western Australia.
A business ecosystem
Connect physical products, digital tools, education, books and real-world projects into one evolving platform.
We do not know exactly what every future chapter will look like.
But the direction remains clear.
Build something useful.
Build it honestly.
Build it in a way that supports the life, land and community around it.
What Your Order Supports
Every purchase helps fund the next piece of the story
A Cooper Delivered order does more than replace a bottle in someone’s bathroom.
It helps fund:
• continued product development
• packaging research and testing
• educational website content
• prototypes and small production runs
• infrastructure on our rural property
• the long-term pathway towards regional manufacturing
Revenue gives the business the ability to reinvest.
That investment creates new projects.
Those projects create more learning, more products, more content and more opportunities to build the wider vision.
