From Plastic Bottles to Purpose: The Story Behind Our Detox Shampoo Bar
Every product has a story.
Ours began with a hairdresser, a supermarket aisle, and a growing discomfort with the amount of plastic waste hidden inside modern beauty routines.
Today, Cooper Delivered is built around sustainability, ritual, and intentional beauty.
But that wasn’t always the case.
Like many businesses, we started by following the traditional beauty industry playbook.
Products. Packaging. Plastic. Convenience.
Then something changed.
The more we learned about waste, the harder it became to ignore.
The moment everything shifted
Growing up, school wasn’t my strength.
Hairdressing was.
Becoming a hairdresser felt like achieving the first major goal of my life.
Years later, that same curiosity that drove me into haircare evolved into a love of learning.
Audiobooks became constant companions.
And one ordinary shopping trip became the catalyst for something much bigger.
Walking through aisle after aisle of plastic bottles, I couldn’t stop thinking about the waste.
Around the same time, I was learning about hard water, product overuse, and how much of modern beauty relies on unnecessary consumption.
One question changed everything:
How do we detox our beauty routines while detoxing the planet?
Learning to unlearn the beauty industry
As a hairdresser, I had seen the waste first-hand.
Countless bottles. Constant consumption. Products designed to be replaced again and again.
The beauty industry had normalised a system that didn’t make sense.
If sustainability mattered, we needed to rethink the foundation.
That meant creating a product that was:
- effective
- sustainable
- travel friendly
- plastic free
- gentle on the scalp
That journey eventually became our Detox Shampoo Bar.
Why the Detox Shampoo Bar is different
The goal was never to create just another shampoo bar.
The goal was to create something that genuinely solved problems.
Bamboo charcoal detoxification
Bamboo charcoal helps remove excess oil, impurities, and environmental build-up from the scalp and hair.
Balanced hydration
While detoxifying ingredients cleanse, nourishing ingredients help maintain balance so hair doesn’t feel stripped.
Cold-pressed production
Careful production methods help preserve ingredient quality and performance.
Handcrafted intention
Every bar represents a conscious move away from mass-produced disposable beauty.
More than a shampoo bar
Looking back, one of the biggest lessons wasn’t about formulation.
It was about accountability.
Our earliest business model included products that no longer aligned with the values we hold today.
Real sustainability requires honesty.
It requires the willingness to evolve when better information becomes available.
The Detox Shampoo Bar became a symbol of that evolution.
Not perfection. Progress.
