Our Story: Why We Chose Sustainable Beauty and Rural Living
Some businesses begin with a pitch deck.
Ours began with a breaking point — the quiet realisation that life felt smaller than it was meant to be.
So we chose out. Not perfectly. Not recklessly. Deliberately.
We refused to keep living small
It wasn’t dramatic or explosive. It was just that steady knowing that if nothing changed, life would keep shrinking around routines that no longer fit.
That choice became Cooper Delivered.
A hairdresser’s skill, a husband’s faith, and a bigger horizon
I’m a hairdresser by trade. It’s the skill I’ve carried since I was young — through an apprenticeship, running a salon, stepping away, and eventually coming back again.
Hairdressing isn’t just cutting hair. It’s confidence, identity, transformation, and watching someone see themselves clearly again.
My husband, Damien, stood beside me from the start. When I had the vision, he didn’t dismiss it. He backed it.
Cooper Delivered has always been a husband-and-wife build — two people choosing belief over comfort.
Learning later in life changed how I build everything
School wasn’t easy for me. I’m dyslexic, and learning felt like pushing uphill without the language for why it was hard.
As an adult, something shifted. Learning stopped being something done to me and became something I chased.
And once I started learning about the planet, I couldn’t unlearn what I saw.
The systems around us weren’t just inefficient — they were disconnected. Especially in the beauty industry.
The plastic problem hiding in plain sight
Hair and beauty are drowning in plastic.
Bottles. Pumps. Caps. Wrap. Shipping. Displays.
Most bottled hair products are largely water and marketing — shipped around the country in plastic, used quickly, replaced endlessly.
Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
That’s how shampoo bars entered our story — not as a trend, but as a 1% change that made immediate sense.
Our brand didn’t start as ritual — ritual found us
Cooper Delivered began as a practical response: how do we do haircare better without pretending to be perfect?
But as the business grew, so did the questions.
We sold our house when the timing was right. Packed our life. Moved into a caravan. Bought land. Chose rural Western Australia.
Living rurally has challenges, but it also has truth: land, off-grid living, growing food, and living the values we talk about.
Ritual is intention, repeated — and it became the soul of Cooper Delivered.
Why a shampoo bar business built an app
People often ask why a haircare brand would build an app.
Because the problem we’re solving isn’t just plastic bottles. It’s disconnection.
Disconnection from learning, land, plants, routine, and understanding what we’re doing and why.
I wrote Soils to Roots about plants, recipes, and slowing down. Then I asked a bigger question: how do we bring this knowledge into daily life, not just onto a page?
That became the Earth App — a place for plant knowledge, growing guides, hair and beauty recipes, ritual, and reconnecting garden, body, and routine.
The part nobody talks about: shipping
Even thoughtful products can unravel at the shipping stage.
Boxes. Mailers. Tape. Labels. Compostable packaging that still often ends up in landfill because disposal systems are confusing.
So we asked a harder question: why are we shipping things once and throwing them away?
That question led to the AllWays Bag™ — a reusable, waxed shipping bag designed to stay in circulation.
Building from a caravan teaches you what matters
Right now, space is our biggest constraint.
From a caravan, I can only make one bag at a time. That’s not scalable yet — but constraints shape better decisions.
The plan is clear: infrastructure first, then improved workflow, then production without compromising values.
Until then, we focus on what does scale: education, systems, and community.
What we want you to understand
You don’t need permission to think differently.
You don’t need perfection to begin. You don’t need a warehouse to matter. You don’t need to stay in the fishpond you were handed.
Circular change doesn’t start with corporations. It starts with ordinary people choosing better again and again.
- A hairdresser’s skill
- A love of land
- A hunger for learning
- A husband-and-wife team choosing a bigger horizon
We’re not perfect. We’re not mass-produced. We’re not funded. But we are building something real.
This is only the beginning
If you want to understand Cooper Delivered, don’t just look at the products. Look at the system we’re building.
